Luxtelligence SA

High Density Lithium Niobate Integrated Circuits Foundry Service Electro-optical (EO) modulators are key building blocks for translating high-speed electrical signals into the optical domain – with various applications in optical telecommunications, optical metrology and sensing, microwave photonics and Terahertz (THz) signal processing, or quantum information processing. Over the past decades, Lithium Niobate (LN) has become the most widely used platform for high-performance EO systems, offering a number of unique properties such as wide-band transparency, high electro-optic activity and optical nonlinearity. Traditional LN photonics used low confinement ion exchange waveguides for optical mode guiding. New technologies based on sub-micron etched waveguides enable 10x increase in the modulation efficiency and 100x decrease in energy consumption per bit. Luxtelligence is a spin-off company from the Laboratory of Photonics and Quantum Measurements (LPQM) at EPFL and offers a process design kit (PDK) based on ultra-low loss LN on-insulator (LNOI) nanophotonic waveguides.  We offer design, fabrication and characterization of optical waveguides and fiber coupling interfaces, ring and racetrack resonators, delay lines and splitters as well as phase-, amplitude-, and coherent modulators and optical switches in LNOI . Our industrial grade processing techniques allow high-throughput wafer-scale processing. We offer both dedicated wafer runs as well as multi-project wafer (MPW) runs for LNOI photonic integrated circuits.
